Spaces is not a resource as such. It is a complete package that allows you to create space for intentional discipleship alongside a growing movement of like-minded churches.
We’ll provide detailed guidance on setting up your Spaces group. We have designed Spaces to be flexible so that you can adapt to your group’s location and timings to best fit your church schedule. Typically, we’ve found that small groups of twelve young people create a comfortable and safe environment for authentic conversations (additional groups can be set up). It’s worth noting that food often serves as a great element for creating a welcoming atmosphere.
Spaces supply regular content to support your session, including icebreakers, discussion materials, prayer / worship ideas, and challenges. Session plans cover various topics like Bible stories, prayer, leadership, environment, and identity. Plus, we’ll guide you to other useful resources for your group.
While we encourage each Spaces group to seamlessly integrate into their current church environment, we offer tools to help you present and communicate efficiently, ultimately allowing you more time to engage with your young people. Additionally, Spaces hoodies, T-shirts, and other branded items can be ordered (priced sperately) to help your group establish its identity as part of a larger movement.
The Learning Community provides access to additional training, including best practice tips and external courses from reputable youth organisations. Spaces facilitators are encouraged to participate in our Learning Community, enabling them to share experiences, learn from others, and receive additional training. Explore opportunities to connect young people with their peers at various events and festivals through the events area.
As part of an established ministry (The Boys’ Brigade), we have extensive experience in keeping everyone safe. In addition to regularly updated training, we have an experienced team that can offer support and guidance 24/7 giving you and your church confidence that Spaces groups operate within established good practice guidelines.
